Free Merchant Terminal partnered with industry leaders, ID TECH and Datacap, to provide several EMV payment system options to accept card-present chip transactions through the Free Merchant Terminal Payment Gateway.
EMV (Europay, Mastercard, and Visa) is a fraud-reducing technology that helps protect issuers, merchants and consumers against losses from the use of counterfeit and lost or stolen payment cards at the point-of-sale. EMV cards, or smart cards, are embedded with a microprocessor, or smart chip, which interacts with the merchant’s point-of-sale device to ensure the payment card, combined with a PIN number or signature, is valid and belongs to the person using the card. This kind of chip technology adds layers of security against fraud and is virtually impossible to duplicate.

Free Merchant Terminal partnered with industry leaders, ID TECH and Datacap, to provide several EMV payment system options to accept card-present chip transactions through the Free Merchant Terminal Payment Gateway.
Integrated EMV – A plug and play solution that seamlessly operates with the Virtual Terminal, Free Merchant Terminal Hosted Payment Forms, and any merchant browser-based payment form and processes either EMV chip or swipe transactions. The device physically connects to a computer via USB cable. It does not support PIN-based transactions, electronic signature capture or contactless transactions.
Datacap NETePay™/TranCloud™ EMV – A true terminal-based solution that functions with a variety of EMV-supported Ingenico terminals. Depending on the terminal selected, a PIN pad and signature capture capability may be available. The solution involves writing to a Datacap API that communicates with the terminal and with the Free Merchant Terminal Payment Gateway. All terminals use point-to-point encryption (P2PE).
Clover Go – using an app on a smartphone or tablet, combined with a Bluetooth-enabled wireless terminal, users can accept dipped, swiped, or tapped transactions on the go. Works right out of the box with minimal setup.
1. Reduce fraud on your merchant account – Chip technology combined with an EMV terminal makes it difficult for fraudsters to steal credit card information.
2. Protect your customers – Retain your customer base by providing a secure shopping experience for your patrons.
3. Avoid liability costs – Investing in EMV processing protection now will save you much money in the long run rather than putting your hard-earned dollars at risk.
If you think EMV has nothing to do with you, think again. CNP merchants have seen a rise in fraudulent transactions as thieves migrate towards least secure channels.
